BARR. ALOYSIUS OSUJI WISHES IMOLITES A GOOD VALENTINE

A frontliner in Imo State politics and a Governorship hopeful Chief Barr. Aloysius Osuji have this to say to Imolites:

Here's to a great Valentine, a great Valentine's Day, a great future ahead and a great beginning to a new phase in our lives. May God bless us all.

Hardy swipes on OAPs: Repackage to be as special as you used to be

Mr. Chinedu Hardy Nwadike the Founder of OtownGist Media & Entertainment has frowned at the common nature of OAPs in Imo State, adding that if they don’t repackage, there won’t be anything special about them again.

Hardy who is the President of Imo State Bloggers Association, said the profession has lost its flare as some people in it don’t even understand the weight they carry.

He said; “I often hide my face when I hear some people I meet are OAPs. They might have the swagger on radio but when you meet them, you don’t just feel that aura of someone you listen to over the radio”

“The packaging is just too poor and some of them don’t even dress 30% of the way someone in showbiz should. They just appear as petty traders because they think people won’t recognize them”

“I have seen fans become disappointed because of this and it is doing more harm than good to young people joining the industry as well as the old timers who know the in and out of their onion”

Recalling when OAPs became the first celebrities in Imo State, Hardy said it would be nice to bring back those days when people on the radio and television were seen as they sounded.

He urged those dragging the image of the trade to the muds to repackage themselves so as to become the fans’ favourites again.

“You can’t board devil’s airways and expect to meet Jesus at the airport. These are the voices our people adore and I think they should always do their fans a little favour by always looking good to avoid that regular disappointment the fans feel every now and then.”

“Again, they should get involved in the show and not just the biz or just sit at home and the office. They should get in other media, throw their faces out there for people to read about them. If you want to play in the Champions League, you must take a flight”

Chinedu Hardy Nwadike who is also an author, recently released his third novel, ‘Just a Girl’s Story’, with accolades pouring in from different angles because of the boldness in the story which talks about self-inflicted pains on women.

Barr. Osujis Vision for Imo Industrial Rebirth in 2019

Agriculture and industries are the bedrock of every sustainable economy.  A nation that cannot feed her citizens is essentially, a failed state.  This is the reason countries with a thinking leadership or critically minded leaders often and constantly prioritize these two all-important sectors of the economy.

The failure of successive administrations in Imo State since the exit of Late Chief Samuel Onunaka Mbakwe, to kick-start the much-needed agro-industrial revolution of the state, has been attributed to several factors including but not limited to the phenomenon of emergency governors, a situation that is prompted by the inability of the masses (electorates) to sieve the chaff from the wind.  This backward political culture of the people on the other hand, is sustained by poverty because from experience, majority of voters demand gratification before casting their votes.  The result is that square pegs are fitted into round holes in terms of governance.

2019 presents another golden opportunity for Ndimo to usher in a new era of knowledge-based, policy-driven governance using their voting power.  Barrister Aloysius Osuji comes with an entirely new vision for the industrialization of Imo State.  The United Kingdom-trained Legal Practitioner quite understands the dynamics of sustainable economic growth and development having trained and worked in some of the biggest and most developed economies of the world.  Barr. Osuji plans to strengthen the synergy between agriculture and industries by first, bringing in the latest but best technologies applicable in modern mechanized agricultural production.

Barr Osuji realizes the futility of a food sufficiency drive without the application of the necessary agricultural technology.  The present sloganeering with the agricultural sector by past and present governments in Imo State, in Barr. Osujis view cannot produce the expected result.  There is therefore the need for a paradigm shift to spur food production and provide raw materials for agro-allied industries to be established in different parts of Imo State especially, the rural areas based on the time-tested, globally acclaimed principle of comparative advantage.  Barr. Osuji has seen it work in Europe, America and China, and is therefore determined to replicate this in Imo.

The principle of comparative advantage in Barr. Osujis blueprint for Imo industrial revolution, will ensure that local governments or communities host industries that utilise raw materials available in their localities, something akin to what Late Governor Mbakwe did for instance, with the now collapsed Ceramic Industry at  Nsu Ehime Mbano that has a lot of clay deposits for the production of ceramics.  Likewise, the Late M.I. Okpara, Governor of the former Eastern Region located the now moribund ADAPALM in Ohaji/Egbema LGA due to the available of land and palm there.  Ditto for Nkalagu Cement Factory located in Nkalagu Ebonyi State, with large deposits of limestone (the major raw material for cement).

But unlike the Sam Mbakwe industrialization strategy which allowed government to manage those industries, Barr. Osuji intends to leverage his extensive contacts and connections to lure private investors in the actualization this dream.

Barr. Osuji understands the role of small and medium Scale Enterprises, SMEs, as a veritable tool to trigger off a quantum leap in industrialization and agro-revolution.  Having travelled widely to the Asian economic tigers like China and others, Osuji intends to deploy the success story of China SMEs in the Imo situation.  Today, China remains the largest producer and exporter of merchandise in the whole world courtesy of the activities of small and medium scale enterprises.  Experience has shown that large numbers of electronic and household products from China are produced in small apartments; this is the magic of SMEs.

But to replicate the Chinese experience, there has to be thorough re-jigging of the operations these SMEs via government policy.  As a keen observer of the goings-on in our state and country, Barr. Osuji is well aware of the bureaucratic bottle-necks which SMEs encounter in order to acess loans from financial institutions.  To illustrate: at about 22% interest rate, small and medium scale enterprises need the grace of God to breakeven in business.  This is further compounded by the short term nature of the loans available to SME operators.  Elsewhere long term loans ensure that start-ups survive the often tough incubation period.  Experience also shows that even when government provides such incentives, the loans are more often hijacked by politicians who convert them to personal use.  There is also the angle of bureaucratic corruption.  So, to achieve the objective of leveraging SMEs (as in China) to kick start the manufacturing sector, would require a leadership or governor with a matching disposition and political will built on corporate discipline and experience.

This is where Barr. Aloysius Osuji (Agunecheibe) legal luminary and globally acclaimed technocrat comes in to fill the gap.  Imo people must think differently in 2019, because the old political war-horses have obviously failed the masses alongside their so-called dominante political parties.  Imo voters must begin to de-emphasize money in their voting behavior and focus on candidates with track records of service.  Attention must shift from who has structure to who can deliver, as there is no other time for salvaging Imo than now.

MOF ENTERTAINMENT SALUTES IRUNO “THE MAN WHO DOES IT WELL”

In entertainment nobody does it flawlessly but in Imo State, Hon. Chukwunonye Iruno, does it well. No one can question his mastery of his art; he has vast knowledge of the industry and his stage-craftsmanship is the thrill of the public.

The recent announcement of the reappointment of Hon. Chukwunonye Iruno as the Special Adviser, Entertainment, Government of Imo State, attests to the foresight of the Government of the day in putting round pegs in round holes.

Entertainment in Imo State has never been as good as it was under Iruno. In his first term he fostered unity in the industry through his servant-leadership style. As the leader of Imo Based Artistes League, He bridged the hitherto gap between government and entertainers in the State, increased performance opportunities for talents across genre, created the enabling environment for local music export, mentored many new entrants in the industry etc.

Truly, etcetera is the best way to summarize the first tenure of Hon. Chukwunonye Iruno because of his countless achievements. MOF Entertainment, being an indigenous outfit is fascinated however by the hope his reappointment elicits.

We look forward to virile industry, one that will be the allure in the comity of States and across the global. We are hopeful that his second term in office will cement the evolving relationship between the media and the entertainment industry in Imo State, that music will embrace innovation through facilities provision, upgrade and science. We also expect that the rights, health and welfare of Entertainers be given more attention to encourage their individual efforts.

Congratulations Hon. Chukwunonye Iruno.

Congratulations big brother of MOF Entertainment.
Congratulations inspiration of Imo State artistes.

SAUW BLAZE HAS BEEN ELECTED THE PRESIDENT OF THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF OGWA.

The CEO of MOF Group who is also a Singer, Recording and Performing Artiste, Writer, Blogger, OAP, TV Host, Entrepreneur and budding Showbiz principality, Unabunwa Samuel Chizoba Wesley popularly called Sauw Blaze was yesterday elected the President of the Indigenous People of Ogwa.

Ogwa which is one of the Biggest Clans in Owerri, the largest political Constituency in Nigeria yesterday gave Sauw Blaze their vote to pilot the affairs of IPOA alongside other Elected Executives.

Reacting to his election, Sauw Blaze  thanked the Board of Trustees' Chairman, Mr Patterson Onuegbu (South Africa) and other members of the BoT, the Immediate past President Barr Ikenna Kingsley, Patrons of the the Movement and the General Assembly of the Indigenous People of Ogwa for finding him and other elected officials worthy to lead one of the largest Movements in Mbaitoli, Imo State and Nigeria at large.

IPOA is saddled with the responsibility of advocating for the welfare, wellbeing and self actualization of every Ogwa indigene.

In his Manifesto, Sauw Blaze enthused thus:

"No Sacrifice is too big to make for the betterment of our Mother land. The Land of Our Nativity is at this point in need of men; men who shall work assiduously with like minds in tangential synergy to create a dream community. A community where education is not only free but the quality is at par with global standard and the environment is suitable for learning. I envision Ogwa where crime is alien given to the strategic engagement of the unoccupied youths, a town where talents are harnessed for the pride of the people and a place where prosperity is the trademark.

By the grace of God, IPOA, amongst other group, has been saddled with the responsibility to realise some of these yearnings highlighted in my introductory declaration. This body had already began different projects like " One Child, One Book" Campaign among others to actualize IPOA mandates. May I at this juncture commend the out-going Executive team of IPOA led by  Barr Ikenna Kingsley for the feats achieved. I would love to note that because of the preponderance of democracy, there will always come a time when there must be a transition of Government, not necessarily because the incumbent has not done well but to give room for others to take part in the leadership of the association as provided in the constitution.

Having been around for some years now and working with the out-going Executive in the Capacity of the DOS, it is my desire to see IPOA sustained in growth, relevance and impact. I have given it a broad thought and have decided to offer myself to serve IPOA in the office of the President.

I come with just one agenda which is *A better Ogwa*
As simple as the  agenda looks, it is a summary of our vision and mission which we shall work together to actualize.

To better Ogwa we have to encourage and advocate for  QUALITY *EDUCATION, SECURITY, OPPORTUNITIES, BASIC SOCIAL AMENITIES, UNITY, INCREASED INVOLVEMENT IN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE STATE AND MEANINGFUL APPOINTMENTS* amongst others. This is to say that the emphasis, when I am duly elected as the President shall be those highlighted and you can agree with me that there shall be tremendous change if the highlighted are achieved.

But I can not achieve those without your support so I hereby, with all humility, request for your support as I vie for the office of the President and for my tenure if elected as the President of the *Indigenous People of Ogwa Association*

Thanks for your anticipated support even as I look forward to working with all of us for the betterment of our Mother land. .

I remain my humble self
Unabunwa Samuel Chizoba Wesley"

Sauw Blaze Pledged to give his best to the land of his Nativity but what people are still wondering about is how he's intends to run Entertainment and Showbiz with Politics and Leadership of his clan.
